The widebody product line up is in the midst of its greatest transformation. Over the course of a single decade, the types so familiar will have been replaced by new models, featuring not only greater efficiency but also considerably longer range capability. In such an environment it would be expected that the lease rentals of those aircraft facing replacement or displacement would be weak. However, such is the demand for widebody capacity from a number of sources that rentals of those types already on the fringes are being adversely affected.
