Aircraft Asset Assessment – The A321neo

November 9, 2020

Market Presence. With 72 customers for the A321neo the variant has exceeded all expectations in terms of orders and customers. Whilst not every operator will wish to fill the aircraft with 230-240 seats, the move away from even 180 seats is clearly illustrated. Operators are increasingly seeking to improve efficiency and meet traffic growth. The easiest way of achieving this is to increase aircraft size. The issue for the A321 in the short term is the focus of operators on matching capacity with demand and this may not always be the A321. The longer range capability of the aircraft though is seeing new utility. In the first nine months there were still 97 deliveries of the A321neo versus 175 for the A320neo. There were 14 deliveries in September which was the same number as in February.
