Aircraft Asset Assessment

September 14, 2020

Market Presence. Appraisers’ opinions diverge in terms of the extent of the fall with some indicating very little decline while others suggest more than 20 percent. There are approximately 1,700 serviceable A321-200s of which are 1,106 are active. Of the 500 that are inactive some 100 are undergoing maintenance and 439 are listed as being in storage. The market is recovering but perhaps operators are initially placing smaller capacity back into service where there is a choice of A320 family variant. Also, the A321 is used more for international operations and these continue to be severely curtailed.
