Following on from the recent opportunity to retrofit A330-300s with a higher weight, the announcement by Airbus that the weight for new A330-300 and A330-200 aircraft will be increased to an optional 240 tonnes will allow the type to remain competitive for that much longer, thereby aiding residuals at a time when the competition from the B787 and A350 will be intensifying.
