For years CFM has, as have other engine manufacturers, sought to control the aftermarket for its products through such programs as TruEngine but in response to growing concerns over maintenance costs, the company has liberalized its policies to such an extent that maintenance reserves and end of lease compensation clauses, upon which lessors and owners frequently depend upon for profitability, will likely see a significant reduction in revenue and affect values.
