Aviation research firm IBA recently reported a substantial drop in CO2 emissions per Available Seat Kilometre (ASK) in the years since the pandemic, showcasing the industry’s strides in fuel efficiency. Between 2019 and 2024, the average CO2 per ASK saw reductions ranging from 4.1% to 10.1%, driven by airlines phasing in next-generation, lower-emission aircraft.
