Values of the A300-600R, always hampered by limited range, continue to decline at a faster rate than most other types. Values of the A300-600R have deteriorated markedly over the last four years. The extent of the decline is such that candidature for freighter conversion arrived two years earlier than the previous 2005 prediction. The prices of younger examples have continued to face the worst of the declines. Values of new examples in early 2001 amounted to more than $75 million with a predicted value of $67 million in 2004. Only three years later the same aircraft are fortunate to exceed $45 million. Values of the oldest examples now range between $10-14 million. Those in lesser condition will be bought even more cheaply allowing for economic freighter conversion. New A300-600RF production freighters may be selling for around $60-65 million making a $20 million converted unit an attractive proposition even for ad hoc charter operators.
